@ Clippers WIN 23-6

If you can’t tell already, I just make up the scores as I see fit. This one was pretty lopsided but it had its fair share of golden moments.

Joe made a strong case for shortstop when he stabbed a rocket that was on its way through him in the first inning.  Another play saw a hot shot carom off his glove into Carl’s waiting glove.  Barry was disappointed that Joe didn’t "do the TW" but I’m sure that Mary is glad that he didn’t (send it flying into the dugout).

That's the way boys, hustle in...

Pretty ducks, all in a row.

Joe! You're up!

Topper, pretending he's at work.

Topper, pretending he's at work.

At the plate, just about every Squeezer had honest at bats with notable exceptions being Mole and Topper.  Mole has proven to be quite an enigma this year and is hitting like a man possessed.  Maybe it’s like someone saying the word "shutout" in the third period but Mole has been hitting great!  And Topper… poor Topper.  Topper blooped 3 very high fly balls into two singles and a double.  For shame.

In the field, Benny made like a younger version of himself and shagged balls all over the field.  He’s still desperately trying to make Joe the oldest member of the team - insisting to chase after balls that are clearly not his).  Perhaps Barry is teaching him how to field.  Barry came over from first base, all the way to behind second, in order to create what Carl called an impromptu group hug.  He was slightly miffed at not being invited.

The shining moment for the Squeezers might have been the bottom of the ninth when Clipper batters failed to get a ball past the commitment line.  Some guys just have that fear… (of commitment).

TW showed up for one mosquito accelerated beverage and put it on Dan’s tab.  Carl said County Automation was sponsoring the evening…

Pregame preamble

We should be well rested after nearly 2 weeks off. I think I speak for everyone here when I say, 2 weeks is too long. You know, I remember a time when coach Barry would see a gap in the schedule like this and schedule a practice or two. But I guess that was Barry B.M. - no, not Bowel Movement. I don’t like to list the tabs on the site so let me just say that, if anyone’s feeling like they might owe a little money, chances are you do. Anyone who struck out on Sunday night… Bucky? Little Dan? I’d like to say that this is going to be a good game but I don’t really have that feeling. After going, like, 245 straight wins that loss to Monte’s was just about the worst thing to happen before a long layoff. It really made me long for hockey season. I dusted off my pads this morning just to make sure they were ready in case I got a surprise summer call for ice… Sorry, Barry P.M.
