vs New Horizons WIN (forfeit)
Our second forfeit win in a row against the New Horizons. I think when we actually play against these guys we’re going to be in for a big surprise. So this year’s Blue vs. Blue game ended after a merciful 4 or 5 innings. One particularly hot inning featured Nick, Topper and Mole all going yard - in a row! I believe the technical terminology is back-to-back-to-back jacks. Topper’s second blast of the game was a frozen rope that looked like it was never far from being caught. Nick had his long homer drought end when he pounded one to deep left. Even Jake got in the act with a (wind-assisted) tater in front of his in-laws. Matty and Derek were the unfortunate pitchers who got lit up but the surprise pitcher of the night was Kenny. Kenny faced certain couchdom by striking out his wife - with high heat no less. In the fields, Ben once again showed us why he is undeserving of the title “old man.” Ben charged in from deep center to make a sliding grab that barely missed being featured on SportsCentre (it was beat out by a donkey kicking a field goal). Topper made playing shortstop look easy and Nick made playing first look hard. Mole took no prisoners at third and Barry played flamingo with the cutoff from Nick (sending Nick’s hard throw directly into the runner’s leg - “thanks a lot, Barry”). Next game is Friday night at the Roblin Dome and then a makeup game on Sunday at 6:45pm. Be there or be square. For those keeping score at home, Squeezers’ season 4-3, homers: Topper 5, Big Dan 3, Mole 3, Farmer-0 2, Jake 2, Nick 1. vs A’s (WIN)
![]() W after bailing, hard. ![]() Benny blasting his quads. ![]() I think this one went foul… ![]() Topper and all his friends. ![]() Dan, you should probably get that looked at. Some fun notes: Mole hit his first and second parkers, Big Dan managed a monster homer and then had his second dinger caught by Ben, on the other side of the fence, Ben had a sure home run caught by a leaping A (who was reported to have been “very tall” to boot), claiming sun in his eyes, Jake had a throw from Tommy bounce his glove off his face, Barry was able to use his good eye to throw a pretty solid game from the mound (save for the top of the 8th when the A’s hit more balls than the Cockpuncher). For those keeping score at home, Squeezers’ season 3-3, homers: Big Dan 3, Topper 3, Mole 2, Farmer-0 2, Jake 1. vs Deflectors - Postponed
