Thanks Brant (I've emailed Brant in person to discuss revising the logo).

Just so there's no confusion about my intentions, this logo is merely a mockup of my vision for the logo. Were it, or I, chosen to do the logo I'd pay someone to professionally produce a logo after consulting with the community about it's final look.

You really can't fault me for trying. I think it looks better than a picture of a cloud. :-)

Please feel free to email me pictures or logos that would be appropriate for Deseronto and I'll design a new logo. I do like the subtle strength of the chief in my mockup. If all I need to change is the headress I'd be extremely happy.

Jacob,

I assume that your "First Nation theme" for your logo is based on the reference to the local community of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. If you intention was to honour our community (as Deseronto was named after one of our founding members Captain John Deseronto) then I would suggest changing the Sioux headress on the logo. The Mohawks also have a headress called a Kahstowa (pronounced Gust-O-wah) which has only three upright feathers. However, if your intention was mere tokenism to a more pan-Indian First Nation streotype, many in our community would find it offensive in our community.
